Why are our S badges so similar to the Corollas'

So driving around and seeing Corolla S models, I've noticed that the S in the badge looks VERY similar to our G35/G37 Sport badges. Upon comparison there are a few differences, but they seem extremely similar to come out of two different Japanese car makers. Who copied who?

Maybe they are using it as an easily recognizable standard of superior performance.

Ha, superior performance and corolla can never be used together.

I guess its very similar to how GT is in all sorts of cars...Mustang GT, Bentley Continental. Ford GT, Nissan GT-R

Why can't they come up with their own names!

Well the Corolla S handles better than the base Corolla. Thus, superior performance. It just lets people know you didn't spring for the cheaper one.

It's not that the letter looks the same, obviously an S will always look like another S, but its their design. It's how they are kind of angled and designed, for example the silver ring around the red interior.

Meh the G's 'S' is fatter, just like our cars. The corolla's 'S' is skinnier, just like theres. The silver lining is pretty typical of almost all car badging...

If it bothers you just debadge it.

This topic doesnt even matter, what a useless thread. Should we have vastly different S's because our cars are so superior to the lowly Corolla? It really doesnt matter.
