I think he should get the civic, because of cheap aftermarket parts so he dosen't have to save just to get a good exhuast. haha i know cuz i got my G at 18 and im 19 now and it's hard to be a full time student and fix a G up..

I dont think its a fair comparison, apple to oranges type deal, but if i was in dudes situation i would go with the BRAND NEW SI!! The G will have you P-Noid everytime you leave her unattended and being 18 jealousy is a ****! Plus at 75k you maynot be able to get infinitis warramty but there are tons of 3rd party ones out there!

Do as your mom tell you and your days will be long upon the earth!!

The K20 is a torquey motor to begin with, and it responds very well to mods. You can actually get something like 25 hp out of i/h/e alone.

I love driving our Si it's a blast. You may not be going as fast as the G, but you have just as much fun, if not more. The shifter is so much better (in a FWD car, how did they do that?) and the handling is like a razor. With some bolt-ons, and a set of lowering springs, this thing would be a autoX demon.

Did something change? I though x's were not available w/ 6mt.

I say, go w/ the Si. Fun, good on gas, very reliable, PLUS warranty. Years ago I vowed not own a car again w/ out a warranty. He's young and on a budget, the Si won't give him any unexpected expenses, except for clutch maybe, if he doesn't know how to drive a stick. He does know how to drive a stick right? GL

6 year newer car with lower payments and a warranty sounds like the way to go for an 18yr old.
