I drive to Vegas from LA all the time... I get rock chips from normal everyday driving.

Sorry... but you look like a tool with that crap.

I don't see what's with all the bashing. Some people just care about their cars more than others. So what? Does it in any way affect you?
It's very common to tape up the bumper for a long trip. Saves time cleaning up and can help prevent rock chips.
Don't like what we're doing, just press the back button or close this thread. No need to bash the OP.

Thank you for that.

It turned out that I had to take a day off work to go on a 3 hour drive one way. Since I already lost money taking a day off the last thing I needed were some rock chips.

I understand why people tape up the bumpers and fender wells. But it reminds me of my High school days when, if you wanted attention, you took the hood off your car and raced around the school on Fridays. You get the same effect. Get a clear bra and you never have to tape it up again...

You will thank yourself later for not having thousands of paintchips from all those wet leaves.

thats what i mean, if his car was so important to him as hes making it seem, getting a clear bra would be the best option. id rather have the rock chips than have my car be 2 different colors looking moronic down the street.

The paint under a clear bra cracks anyway so when it comes off the paint does also. Blue tape is softer and probably thicker and it adsorbs the rock hits better than something that is nearly invisible and thin like a clear bra.

You're very funny. Tell it to everyone else using it.

I have never seen a taped car on the highway. Never. But it would be good for track days or those going to a car show.
