^ Thanks but i definitely tried that first before I tried, putting salt infront of and behind all the tires. I also tried pieces of cardboard stuck underneath the tires (infront of and behind each tires) The tires spin and vdc cuts power. I've tried with vdc off as well. All times going really light on the pedal

Cat litter (non clumping?) is often recommended for getting cars out of stuck situations.

I'm assuming summer tires?

if you don't have cat litter and want to get the car out, get a huge bucket of hot water and melt the ice around the rear wheels. the cat litter or sand around the wheels is a better idea though.

An old 4x4 trick we used when we got stuck in the mud was to cut up a cheap carpet and wedge it under the tires.

Polar Ice Melt does the trick for me. Try and find the shaker gallon containers for ease of handling. Then I just refill the containers from bulk bags.

I'll bet you a buck my driveway is worse than yours.

Try ice melter and/or sand. Don't use rock salt because it is corrosive and could damage your driveway. I also don't think that boiling water is a very good idea because it may work for a few minutes but it's obviously cold where you live so it's just going to turn into ice again!
