winter tire?????

i have a question about size. i purchased some 225 45 17 for the front winter tires... i was a mistake, the only thing is i believe the actual size is a 225/50/17. my car came with the sports package 19in rims with no brembo. Also would i be better off with 235/50/17 or the rears or would it be ok to do 235/45/17 in the back. Please help!!!!!!

I don't understand... Why did you buy 17 inch tires for your 19 inch rims? Do you have a set of 17 inch beater wheels?

I'm sure you're fine if the only difference is a 45/50 series tire..

I have a 17" winter snow set up. Everyone told me I had to go with 225/50/17 front and 235/50/17 rear to keep the stagger set up.
I ended up going with 4 225/55/17's all the way around. I find it does nothing to the VDC/ABS systems....and it allows me the option of rotating the tires each season.
The key is to keep the rear tire diameter the same as OEM....example...26.8". As long as you keep the rear tire within a 3% margin of the OEM spec. you will be fine.

I would suggest going with a slightly narrower tire.....it is much better in the snow.
Just my .02
