What would you expect from the dealer?
Hey all! Don't post much but enjoy reading all the info post on this forum.
Bought an 04 g35x sedan in July for the wife, love the car for me though, with extended warranty. Vehicle had 40,000 now has 47,000. The right rear caliper has fozen up causing a great deal of heat.Good thing the wife told me right away before any other damage is done.
This is where my question comes in. Would you expect the dealer to replace the caliper, rotor and brake pads? If so would they do both sides?
I would want them to keep it uniform, what they do on one side they do on the other. I expect to get a loaner ,which they said they would, and pay my 100.00 dollar deductable. Would this be unreasonable?

Sorry dude but they are only gonna replace whats screwd
What they do and what they should do are two different things.
What they should do is replace the bad caliper and BOTH rotors and pads
What they will do is replace the bad caliper, and just that rotor and pads. They will even try to cut the rotor if it's not too damaged.

Well my first trip to the dealer was a success. Right side caliper was changed, both rotors and pads.Had my fogged up clock replaced.
They also washed the car ---very shabby at best. Last time I let them wash my car.
So a loaner, rear brakes, clock and wash--my out of pocket- $20 tip to service
writer. Extended warranty seems like a good choice so far.Don't know why they didnt charge me my deductible----didnt ask either
Thaks to all who replied!

Oh...and glad it worked out so well for you.
Being I worked for a dealer many years ago I tip. They will remember that and go the extra mile for you. Also the service writer called me twice to give me updates. All in less than a 24hr period. Above and beyond maybe, but the 20 bucks should pay for itself 2 fold.
