03-04 vs 05-06

Hi all. im new to these forums but ive been floating around for a while. Im looking to buy soon, and have a friend selling his 2005 G35 coupe with about 50k miles for 16k. I was looking around and making some calls and PMs and found some 04s for around 13-14 k. my question is, are the 05 models worth the extra couple grand? or should i just buy an 04 and use the extra to put some extras on the car. any input is appreciated. thank you

If your friend took care of his car, especially if he was the original owener, there's a lot to be said for having first hand knowledge of how the car has been fed and cared for in the past.

In general, I'd almost always shoot for the latest model year, unless you found a great deal on a low mileage older car. Also, I don't know if this applies to coupes or not, but the 2004.5 sedans have some upgrades and may be a happy medium saving you a few bucks but getting some upgrades in the process.
