engine cutoff at 2100 RPM!!!

weirdest thing happened yesterday, my 04 coupe got stuck in an icy parking spot for about an hour... a lot of rockin and pushing to finally get it out... then i noticed my rpms were stuck below 2100, would get engine cutoff when i hit it... NOT FUN in 6th gear and 60mph on the highway!! couldn't even free rev over 2100.. shut the car off and restarted it and it was still capped, didn't matter if VCS was on or off either

finally turned it off and locked the doors then unlocked them then started and finally the limit was removed! Anyone experience this before? safety measure cuz I was spinning my tires a lot while stuck in the parking spot??

I've never heard of a safety measure like that before exactly why would that even happen for a "safety" measure. If your driving on the road and you got stuck on your rpm and not allow you to go with speed of traffic that would make you a danger for you and everyone else. That's weird. Hope all works out for you man.

Sounds like the ECU went into limp mode. I'd have that checked out asap though.

i doubt there be any "safety" measure problem but i'd have to agree on the ecu limp mode... get it checked.
