Talking Very Excited!

So I have been moving around the the Forum like a ninja (basically reading and not posting, lol) and finally I get to post something that is not garbage for my first real post.

I am very excited. A friend of mine is an awesome Painter in Los Angeles and he is painting my car in Walnut at his Shop. I purchased my G about two months ago and I hated the body kit and the paint job was horrible. The guy that painted the body kit painted it in Glacier White, I don't even think that is a Nissan Color. He didn't realize it, the paint was low grade. He even sprayed the top coat to try to blend in with the car (awesome idea right?) Two tone, but not the two tone I was looking for.. lol.

Well Mike has been painting since I've known him for about 7 Years and been painting even longer. I am really excited. I am leaving to LA tomorrow at 11am from Phoenix. The minute I get there we will start tearing the car apart. We have three days to get everything done. I will have pics up of the car before and after. Going with KS Rear and Sides and a TS front end. I will go all ivory Pearl with the rear valance blacked out, traditional KS rear.

Any recommendations for any additive colors or effects in the paint. I'm thinking OEM paint code but I also want to stand out. I don't want to change away from Ivory though. Thanks!

T minue 28Hrs and I will be all the way to LA~!~

So the Kit is here now. Car is torn apart. Test fitted the fron tbumper, unfortunately we have to trim the front because of the intercooler but it's all good. I have taken pics to this stage so far and I will post them when I get back to Phoenix.

The Drive is definately worth it. 5.5 Hours for a paint job but hey this is the only guy I trust with my stuff!

If your buddy can do it right Pearl White ftw, but he must know how to do it cause i have seen some horrible pearl jobs, lol! Try changing the tint of the pearl, ive seen a reddish and golden tint that looked like heaven in the sun real subtle!

That's not a bad Idea at all. We got the body kit fitted now. We had to cut the front bumper because of my intercooler. It will be painted tonight. He is real good at the tough shots. The only thing he doesnt do i Marble. He painted my last car and did a bad a$$ job. I've known him for like 8 years so he takes care of me really good on the price.

Man I didn't get back on until now. I wish you could have came by to see it. I am trying to upload the pics. My friends shop is on Fairway just south of Valley. I will be back in town in May.

I did learn an interesting lession... when driving from Walnut to PHX, mask the WHOLE front end!!!. I already got a rock chip. I think when I go authentic I will get the clear bra.

sorry if the pics don't show up great. I took when with my black berry. I guess i'm too old school to buy a camera... you know since blackberry's came first and all.

I will post up more. If anyone wants info on the shop let me know. I worked out a deal for anyone from the forums.

Me and Mike go way back. We were suppose to start when I got there but once I took the car apart, bumpers tails and HIDS, I was too tired and needed a beer. So we went to the bar. The car was sanded down on Wed and all the body work was done. Suprisingly there was a lot of bondo under the cracked ugly paint. The old bondo had to go and had to reblock minor areas. Thursday was a half day, kit was fitted, car was prepped, taped and painted. Friday the kit was painted and the car was wetsanded and polished all nice and on Saturday was the finishing touches. Usually he asked for about a week. He is very **** and takes pride in the work. I am a big distraction for him since I only come out every couple of long months.

He hooked me up pretty good. I will say it's hard for someone to beat the price he gave me. Like i said, we go way back and he hasn't done a G until now. Just from my car he had a Twin Turbo Supra go in today and my other friend is dropping off his 1965 Lincoln Continental, suicide doors... you know.

Bringing an old thread back to life. I have made many changes and once again am getting the car painted again with a color change, hopefully enough money to get new wheels too. I will also create a thread of my car over the last year.
