Service record request

Can anyone help me with a service record request? I bought an 06 MT sedan in January and unfortunatly going through the OC test.. My dealer has said so far looks like im going to be getting a new engine, but told me to get my servie records together.. Unfortunatly i dont have all of them.. Missing some oil changes from 7500 to 21000 miles but have the rest after that. If someone can help pull my service history would be much appreciated. if not can you recommend a a website or something you can pull VIN info on for everytime its been to a jiffy lube or dealer?? Thanks

They want the entire history? Or just since you bought it? Find out if the car was leased. If so, see if the dealership it was leased from can provide you with some records, and possibly contact the original owner and see if they'll get in touch with you. The dealership won't give you the original owner's info directly, but they'll probably pass it. You may want to try Carfax or Autocheck. Those will often have service dates on there if the work was done at a dealership.

Good luck.

He didnt say, just to get my service records together (incase they need them). I have the carfax on it, and it doesnt state much. My service tech is really helpful, and like I said i have the majority of the service info, just the 13000 miles in between. Infiniti knowing that the OC issue is a common problem, I'm hoping they are somewhat lenient since I have the majority of the history. Thnx for the info Buckeye..

They can't expect you to have records for the time period when you didn't own the car. That's a pretty high standard considering there's no easy way to get them. I've even been told that some dealers intentionally throw away service records before they list a car. That way they get the chance to offer services at the time of sale even if they're not needed. And considering the OC issue is far beyond well known, my guess is they'll just replace the engine. But I'd still try to find them if you can.

Where did you buy the car? And where did they get it? If you've got the Carfax, find out what city or state it was originally titled in. Then find the Infiniti dealers near there and contact them with the VIN number. They may put you in touch with the original owner. I totaled an Audi 90 way back when, and about a year later some kid called me and wanted to know about the car. He was buying it at an auction, and somehow was able to get my name and number (who knows, it may have been on the registration). I was happy to help him.
