On Christmas day I had a new battery and alternator installed. The last week or two my battery and brake light would randomly go on and off and at times very dimmly. Yesterday with my a/c on and my xenons my car would not go faster than 2 mph...but if i put the car in neutral I could still rev the engine. Then it died. I waited a few minutes and it restarted. Tonite the battery and brake light went on, the car moved 2 mph then all warning lights came on and it died. I had a buddy jump me and i made it a block to my garage, where it sits now. What the hell is going on??? I did a search but only came up with a bad alternator. Is my new alternator faulty or is it something else? My buddy that installed it says it might be idle control...any thoughts.
