Warranty still valid at 60,100 mi ?
Warranty still valid at 60,100 mi ?
Hello everyone,
I took my car to the dealer yesterday for the problem described in this thread:
https://g35driver.com/forums/drivetr...h-problem.html
I told them to check the master and slave cylinders as everyone suggested. So later i get a call from the service advisor saying that my master and slave cylinders were BAD and need to be replaced. Surprisingly they are covered under the 4-year/60k mi and not the powertrain warranty. My car has 60,100 mi on it. Stupid me I didn't take it before the warranty has expired
but i thought it would be covered under the powertrain warranty. Anyway, after a long argument he told me that he will talk to his manager and get back to me by Monday.
What do you guys think my chances would be to have them replaced under warranty? Anything I can use to support my argument?
And if they said no, how much would it cost to have both cylinders replaced (parts + labor) ?

It's realy the call of the dealership at that point. My bro is a service manager at Nissan and I've seen him replace an entire engine out of warranty (75k) because the customer did ALL service previously at that dealership and would most likely keep doing so as long as the dealership went a little out of their way to help.
It all depends.
It all depends.
They'll probably cover it as long as your car is under 4 years old. They can probably tell Infiniti you had brought it in before the 60K miles so they can get re-imbursed. And brakes aren't part of the power train. That's basically engine, transmission, driveshaft, differential and axles. But it's really up to the dealer as to whether they'll work with you on it.
