G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

Thanx, yes she is a pretty but I think it's time I get something newer and my mind is set on a g35 sedan or coupe but if I find a nice WRX then I'm leaving nissan.
I've never owned a RWD car so I'm kind of worried about how it would be on the snow. But I bet it's great fun when the VDC is off.
the G is a better looking car than the TL.. if you dont mind rwd in the winter, get it.. otherwise maybe consider a g35x
you totally failed to hide your front plate number even though to morphed it in the rear shot

I agree with risingson. The G is just a better looking car. The TLs are cool too, but in my opinion the G is much cooler. Plus the TLs have that trim line down the side. I looked at both before I bought my G sedan and ultimately I just thought the G was a cooler call all around. Plus I have been driving a Nissan for years and they have never let me down.

Sorry, just had to let that out. Who needs therapy when we have Driver? Bash a noob, blow off a little steam, have a good laugh, whatever floats your boat. And all for the low, low price of $30 a year for premium (which includes
in case you didn't know). Cheapest therapy available in my book.
Another car i was thinking of is the Altima SE-R. What do you guys think of that? i know its FWD and ppl will proly see it as another Altima. But those Code Red Altimas are sick.
One thing i am worried about getting the Altima more is the ownership experience. If i get a G35 or a TL or a WRX there are nice forums like this forum for me to hang out and talk and read about the car but the altima forums are really dull. Even the TL forums are better.
So when it comes down, modability, ownership expeirence, status, i think the G is the better choice for me.

The G35 sedan is pretty well balanced (don't know about the coupe, never drove one). It's definitely a little harder to get started in snow than in a nose heavy FWD car, but once you're moving, turning, braking, all work exactly like in the FWD. The major difference is that applying a lot of gas in low traction conditions while turning will make an RWD car want to swap ends, while a FWD car will just understeer. The VDC prevents that completely, though.
I've driven my G35 in snow when I went skiing. I have snow tires for that purpose. With snow tires, I was driving on roads where AWD cars were slipping with their all-seasons. If you live in a snowy area, get some used wheels off ebay, put some good winter tires on them, and you'll be just fine in pretty much any snow.
^^ I guess it wouldnt be that big of a problem for me bcus in NY the Sanitation dept clean our roads very well at least imo so if i just wait for the snow plows to go throught he streets and stick to the main roads during the snowy days i will be alright. And im not a person who drive aggresively everyday and even my aggressive driving is pretty normal for most people.
God i just cant wait to get a new car, just have to ask for more hours at the job and save more money after im done with my finals.

RWD > FWD. That is the absolute deal breaker between the TL and the G. The 04-08 TL is a beautiful looking car, but they really killed it making it FWD. Yeah the TL handles decent for a 60/40 weight distributed FWD car, but a true sports sedan is RWD and will be more of the drivers car. I live in Chicago and have gone through 2 winters with my RWD 05. The G drives great in the snow with proper tires. In fact I think my G with blizzak snow tires drive better than other FWD cars I've driven with A/S tires in the snow. With the ABS, VDC, VLSD (sport package), and proper tires, it really isnt much of a problem. The G35X is always an option too!
Interior: TL hands down. G is nice, but it's nowhere near the TL.
Exterior: Personal preference. I like both, but the 05-06 G is one of the nicest looking cars on the road.
Performance: G hands down. TL isn't bad, but it's FWD, has a fair amount of torque steer, and did I mention that it's FWD? The G is a rocket.
Ride: TL hands down. Very smooth, quiet, luxurious. But that's it's downfall. It isolates you too much from the driving experience. I give it to the G.
Reliability: The TL. Honda/Acura are just behind Toyota/Lexus for overall reliability. The G is very good, but it's not in the TL's league.
Snow: It's all about the tires, but I'd rather have a well-balanced RWD like the G in the snow than ANY FWD. FWD is for people who don't know how to drive.
Mods: G hands down. And it's not even close.
Overall: The G. I was deciding between both last fall, and really, after driving both, the decision was easy. The VQ engine has one of the sweetest sounds ever made by an automobile.
Next Car?: It's a long way off, but I'll definitely look at the AWD TL. Used of course. But who knows.
