Do not buy a modded car is the first rule. Second rule is that do not buy from Mitsubishi dealer, I know it is one of the big car dealers but do not buy from them. I bought my Coupe from them and I had 1 month warranty from them. Within the first week, the center brake light did not work, I brought it to them and you know what they told me? they told me to bring it to Infiniti dealer. I was like WTF? That's the first time. Second time I went there to ask them for an oil change record (engine, transmission, diff) they told me that once they get the car in, they checked it for 160 points of inspection. So all the oil and fluid is new. And I said oh ok, but I brought my car to my friend's garage to have him check my car anyways. The oil transmission was dirty and I had to change it right away. I can't imagine what will happen to my transmission if I trusted the dealer. And the last thing is that they remove the rims to replace tires (the good thing is that I got 4 new tires when I buy the car), but when they put the rims back on they f***ed up one of the wheel studs on the rear. I did not find out til last week when I swapped the rims with a member here. And the price that they give out is always higher than other dealers. Once the car is sold, they pretended like they are not responsible for anything even if It was still under 1 month warranty that they offered. I will NOT buy anything from MITSUBISHI again. BAD DEALER.

That's why I was going to buy a round-trip ticket. But I also knew that the car was Certified Pre-Owned.

Make sure you buy it from an Infiniti dealer. If you're looking for a very particular car, it may mean waiting a little bit until one comes on the market. And an AB Coupe is definitely a rarity.

Honestly, I consider this good advice as well. I found two IPs that were damn near identical in every way except miles and Navi. However, one is a 6 hour drive away, and one is a 20 hour drive away. The one that is 6 hours away has 3k less miles, but no navi, and NOT an infinity dealer. The one that is 20 has navi, 3k more miles, BUT its from an infinity dealer.

I chose to go with the one that was 20 hours away due to the peace of mind of dealing with an infinity dealer, rather than some privately owned internet dealer. There were some other good points as well, environment the car has been in (ie climate and such), auto check report, carfax readily available, etc etc.

You'll find yours bro, just may take a bit.

well i also found an infiniti dealer in nj that's not too far away that has a G that i wouldn't mind having

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...eadExists=true

problem is the price..i personally think that's wayyy too high for a G even with that low amount of miles. and they're not very willing to go lower. that's like the price for a used g37..

Hmm... dunno. I mean, if you look at the kbb retail value thats listed for that one, they are a lil over a grand over that. Then if you start adding options.... But yea, i feel ya, thats definitely getting into used 37 territory.

Bro, if you want, I can help search around for ya too. Ive got alot of down time at work, and i just recently got done with my months long search for mine. Im not dealer or anything, but i do have time and im willing to help a fellow service member out too.

Gimme the exact specifics of what you're looking for and I'll help ya.

Heres another one that looks like a pretty good deal, but its all the way in Colorado.

Heres my search using autotrader. I put in the following...

Under 30k miles
Under 30k price
Blue
Manual
2 door
Within 500 miles

Here are my findings...
07
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

Two 06's
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

Two 05s
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false
NOTE- Pretty sure this is the same one I found on cars.com...

You know, luckily it looks like none of those are over 300 miles from your zip either, so thats kinda nice.

dude thanks so much for the effort. but the thing is i'd rather have somewhere local but if it's somewhere far maybe i'll take a roadtrip there sometime during the summer and check em out.
my criteria:
06-07
colors from fav to least: athen's blue, red, IP, black/any other blue
packages: premium package (a must), navigation (preferably but not a must), RAS (preferably but not a must)
mileage: preferably 20k and under but willing to go up to 30k and under
as stock as possible

thanks alot bro! btw what service branch are you in?

We all would. But, given your somewhat narrow parameters, it's not likely. The way I figured it, I was going to have this car for many, many years, so the effort to go get it would have been pretty minor.

Have you considered talking with a local Infiniti dealer to see if they can locate one for you? I wanted a CPO, so I had the "local" dealer (150 miles away) buy one for me at an Infiniti-only auction. 2 or 3 days prior to the auction, we went over a short list of cars he knew would be there that met my basic guidelines. I told him what I was willing to pay for each one so he gave his auction guy the numbers so he knew what he had to get the car for in order for it to work for both of us. I got exactly what I wanted.

Rear Active Steering? Don't get it. On the plus side, it offers virtually no difference in the driving experience. On the minus side, it's got many more moving parts that can fail. And they didn't make very many, so you probably couldn't find one if you tried.

Keep searching Autotrader.

Yea, i hear ya about getting one local, but... like in my situation, you may have to do some foot work to get the exact one you want. For example, in my state and a 500 mile radius, I could NOT find an IP that fit the parameters that I was looking for. Either that, or I found similar cars in other states for similar prices but with more features... etc etc. I ended up finding my perfect match down in AZ (which is roughly 1500 miles away).

And, in the next 24 hours, I may be making a road trip down there. Depending on what my local dealer can find out. In my opinion, as bukeye pointed out, it really is just a "drop in the bucket" when you consider how much you want the car and so on and so forth.

Oh, and to answer your question, Im in the Air Force. You?

yeah you bring up a good point about making an effort for the car. that's why imma wait til summer starts before i go roadtripping around looking for my car
and for talking to the local dealer..i've been trying to contact 'da mayor' for the longest time, he's even posted in this thread for me to pm him but he just will not respond..so iunno what's going on there. is there a way you can transfer a car from an infiniti dealer in another state to the one that's more local?
and thanks for the knowledge on RAS it just seemed like a nice feature

Yea, i did. And its sitting in AZ waiting for me to come get it. Just took me awhile to find the perfect one. Thats what I was trying to get at. I just didnt hop on the computer and find one quick. Took some time. I started looking way before I even knew that g35driver.com even existed.

Army? HUA! Well damn, we're definitly brothers in arms then. Sure as shiot couldnt be an AF without the Army first. LoL, sorry about your job though bro.... pretty sure you're back and forth to the suck quite a bit huh? You active or guard or reserve?
