Dead battery...again
like 6 months ago i went to costa rica for 2 weeks, I came back and my battery was dead. I though its an original 04 battery ill just replace it. New battery has been working fine in the mean time untill today, I came home after 3 weeks away and it was dead again...
I have a UTEC and its tapping power from the passenger side 12v cigarette, i also have a USA spec ipod adapter. Could either of these things drain the battery? This isn't a common occurrence for the G's battery to die right? i searched around and couldnt find anything like this.
Thanks for the help
Mike

Our car does have a power draw when turned off. It's usually not the accessories or anything connected to the lighter plugs since those turn off. The alarm, keyfob radio, and aftermarket stereos can pull a little bit of power when turned off, and it adds up over three weeks.
I found that from a fresh battery, my stock car could sit maybe 4 weeks before the battery got so weak it barely starts the engine. After installing an aftermarket stereo, this definitely dropped bit. What really sucks is that once you drain a car battery flat, it's damaged and holds less power next time you charge it.
Get a battery tender, it's super easy to hook up and will keep your battery topped off. Don't get one of the things that plugs into the 12V outlets, since those don't work in our cars.

Negative! Do not do that your PCM (on board computer) requires a minimum of 9.5 volts in order not to lose its KAM (Keep alive memory). If you disconnect your battery in any 1996 or newer vehicle (especially Nissans) you'll stand a good chance of having to have your PCM reprogrammed. Buy a battery tender!
