first time at the track

so I went to the track friday night for the first time, I have never raced any cars before this. I have true dual exhaust, CAI, and catless my best time was a 14.2 at 98mph. I think I can get a faster time than that any suggestions.

i think the 9.1 and 9.6 are your 1/8 miles

i don't think it took you 9.1 seconds to go 60 feet

It's gonna be hard to break 14. That .2 may not sound like much but it's a decent amount. You're 6MT right? If you're not, you're not going to break 14 without putting more mods in.

my 60ft was 2.162 and then my 1/8 mile was 9.286 at 77mph, my reaction time was .446 could be better for sure. I think if I work on my reaction time and then deflate me tires a little i will be in the 13's. I thought about putting race fuel in for a couple of runs but to scared to blow my engine.

Your reaction time could definitely use some work, there are several flash based reaction time games that you can use to work on your reflexes. you should be around .2 (thats avg human reaction time) but u can probably improve to .17 with practice

Makes me wonder what I would do in the 1/4.

I did 9.2 with a 2.2 60ft bone stock on the 1/8 mile.

What did you run against?

I would suggest a spacer, and ditch the cold air intake for the 06 box and z tube.

LoL, your rt doesnt matter at all when trying for lower ets. Your time doesnt start until your wheels move out of the path of the beams anyway. So dont worry about that. That light could stay green for an hour, but your time wont start until after your wheel gets out of the beam.

Your 60' times will suffer due to your rubber. Nankang tires are crap. What you should consider doing is bringing a set of drag radials on some beater wheels. Heat them suckers up and let her rip. They wont grab as hard as a true slick, but they will grab 10 times harder than those Crapkang tires, lol.

And lowering your tire pressure isnt going to do anything with stock tires. So dont bother, you'll do more harm than good.

As for your race gas theory, what octane are you thinking on running? You could try getting your hands on some Torco booster and you should be ok. May have to change your plugs out afterwards, but shouldnt do any real damage to your motor. You can mix 128oz of the stuff in a 20 gallon tank and get 105 octane. Here... http://torcoracefuel.net/2-docs/acce...lend-chart.gif

Oh, and as for getting into the 13s as you sit now.... its possible. What is the elevation where you're at anyway?

Also remember, torque wins races, hp sells cars.
