Manual versus Automatic VOTE!
^agreed, for the small about of drivetrain loss with an auto, its probably almost made up with quicker shifts. and if you guys think us at guys leave it in drive all the time, youre wrong. id say at least half the time, im in control of what gear its in. and yes, suit+drink+phone does not go well with a manual.
but, i will say there have been a couple times that i wish it was a manual trans.

I have a 6MT coupe, and my last four cars have all been stick. I can't go back to automatic.
Even thought he 5AT has the manumatic mode, i can't stand it. It's not like really driving a manual at all.
I own two cars, one stick, and my G35 5AT (i prefer it this way for commuting). I refuse to use the manual mode because it's not the same. The shifts aren't fast enough, i find myself pressing an imaginary clutch, lifting the gas on the shifts and the throttle response isn't the same. That's my biggest peeve. In a true manual, the engine RPM is directly linked to the wheels. SO if you roll on the gas a bit, instant throttle response. With the 5AT, even though the converter is locked, there is still some "sponginess" in the response, even if you have it at a high RPM. After about 2 mins of realizing manumatic mode is not the same as a true manual, i just slap it back in Drive and commute normally.
Then i go get my other car and bang gears with a smile

MT is more fun. People who bought AT always seem to trade their car for a MT years later.
You never see a MT owner trading in their car for the SAME car, but AT. lol.
If a MT owner does trade for a AT, its usually for a van, SUV or another type of family car.
And I'm in the NewPort Beach area the at 55/57 Freeway is a bltch. I still have no trouble driving the MT. It's usually the AT driver who are PISSED off during traffic. LOL
I see it all the time.
Something about the REV and shifting of gears that calms you and keeps you busy.

wtf, for all of you who think you have bigger p**** just because you drive a MT sports car... first of all, fyi, G35 is a GT, last time I checked, G is not even considered a sports car, go cry out loud on a 350Z site or something. Secondly, I don't see the need for those of you who have AT but then trying to to defend yourself that you really "wanted" MT, f***! just love what you have, man. Lastly, this is a G35 site, it's for ppl who love the car, not the transmission, just be respectful, if you are gonna complain about ppl who drive AT, you either go join a 6mtg35 site or just work hard and be rich enough to buy nissan and force it to make MT G only...
