I would think that removing the OEM engine cover would allow more air circulation over and around the plenum. Adding the MD 5/16" spacer ISO copper will also allow your engine to run cooler plus improve response. Our engines LOVE cool mornings....

The spacer and iso thermal won't do too much for you as far as cooling goes... it's the aramid gasket that keeps the temp of the plenum cooler. The whole point is to keep intake temps low, and it won't make sense to keep the upper plenum cool while the lower plenum is still heat soaked because the heat from the lower plenum will still affect the air temp inside. The iso thermal is for the throttle body, so that's a different aspect that Motordyne's full kit also takes care of.

i was reading that the biggest gains are from the first 5/16s and negligible once u hit 1/2in so ur better off saving ur money and getting the 5/16

"IsoThermal" are the two items - coolant control valve (or copper plate) and the Aramid gasket... its a kit. The goal of both pieces is help allow for cooler/denser air entering the combustion chamber.

There’s no reason to stop there either… ceramic coating (or other thermal coating) of the lower collector is a good idea too… personally, I’m very anxious for the MREV3 (phenolic lower collector) a better choice than all the aforementioned.
