Void warranty mods?

Can anyone give me a list of mods that will void my warranty?

I'm planning on doing a few N/A mods but I don't want to void my warranty.

I'm planning on full exhaust with headers, cams, grounding kit, springs or coilovers. Will anything on that list void the warranty? I assume the cams and headers will?

Thanks

any mod can void your warranty if the mod is connected to or deals with the problem that you are going to warranty for.

It has to be more than just connected, they have to prove it caused the failure in question. For example, having a Rev-up airbox on a non-Rev-up motor is certainly connected to a throttle body failure in that it's part of the air intake system, but they'd never be able to prove it caused the TB to fail.

In which case it's easier to remove the mods before bringing the car in for service.

But yes, the dealer needs to prove that the mod caused the failure, however the level of proof may not be up to the standards a customer might want.

I would definitely make sure your engine doesn't have the oil consumption problem first before opening it up for cams and such. Even though we know the problem is a bad ring design, the dealer could claim the cams were the issue...and in court he would have a good case. Def start documenting date and mileage and saving receipts for changes for that issue.

The only thing that might get voided on your warranty is your exhaust. There's no reason why anything else would be. But the cats are easy enough to throw back on if say your muffler goes bad on you.

I would def toss the cats back on if you bring the car in for service. I don't even think the dealer can work on your car without them. They can get in huge trouble for having a car with no cats in their service area
