'05 X won't start...

Hi all, need some input here.

I have an '05 X and about a week or so ago I noticed that it would struggle to start at times, other times it would be fine. I'm due for an oil change in a couple weeks so I figured I'd have it checked out then.

Well, when I went to start it this morning it wouldn't start. I'd turn the **** and I could hear it clicking and the instrument panel would light up so I don't think it's the battery.

Other info on the car I can provide is that it's an Auto, has about 92,000km (57,500 miles) and otherwise has been trouble free since I purchased it pre-owned from a dealership in June.

I have a tow truck coming in the morning to have it towed to my nearest dealership but I'd like to know what the experts here think.

Thanks.

It might be your battery. Do you know if it still has the stock one? You have a 5 year old car with almost 60,000 miles and that's about the right time for the stocker to die.

If the car's clicking but not turning over when you try to start it, I bet your battery's dead.

Makes sense, I'm gonna try jumping it when I get home.

It might start, but you need to replace it. Take it to an auto parts store and they can check to see if it's dead or not.

Thanks for the tips Blue Dream, jumping it got it going.

Gonna keep my appointment for tomorrow since I need my oil changed/regular maintenance done anyway and have the battery looked at too.

Saved me from a tow
