6MT + NYC = _____________(help me make a choice)

HI,

So I live in Queens part of new york city and I'm pretty sure all of you know how it is in big cities with traffic, stop signs, and traffic lights on almost every block. Thing is I still can't decide between 6mt or auto. Basically I want a manual but my mind keeps telling me I will regret it later. So I'm asking you people that live in a city with lots of traffic and lights and drive a manual on what your experiences are. Do you wish you had an auto or no regrets at all? (I do about 95% city driving and rarely get on the highways which are always packed either way) help me make the right choice I'm looking at 05-06 ivory pearl sedans which are so hard to find

I would go with at because of the traffic and stuff. Also this car is a luxury car so just chill in comfort during traffic. I live in la and traffic here is horrible

I've also got a 6MT coupe and deal with traffic every morning going through the security gates on post. A lot of stop and go traffic, it sucks, but it's definitely worth it when you can get away for the weekend and go find some fun roads to play on. There are plenty of those in the northeast if you get out of the city for a while. Until I broke my left foot over the weekend I never regretted opting for the 6MT.

Living in the bay area where traffic gets pretty bad sometimes but i've never regretted getting a manual. Having also lived in NyC traffic can be terrible as well. But when you need that extra kick it will be right on the pedal waiting.

BS!

6MT, period. Accept nothing less.

If you're going AT, you might as well get a Lexus... aka Japanese Buick.

i'll tell you this... i just sat in 45 minutes of traffic this morning... if it's just a weekend driver, then go 6mt...

when I never hit traffic, i couldn't care less. but when I had a 6mt in traffic i just rolled and never put my foot on the clutch much...

btw.... i have a ivory pearl 6mt sedan in stock.....http://www.infinitiofmassapequa.com/...ails/520035493

I drive over an hour each way to work everyday to and from work. I've been driving my car for so long I don't even realized that I'm shifting gears any more, it's just second nature to me at this point. 6mt is the way to go!!!

^^^so true!!

if your heart says 6mt, you will regret getting an auto regardless of being in traffic or not. Everytime i even begin to think I want an auto, i drive someone else's car and in an instant, i know i love mt MT.

I live in Queens too and I'm trying to get rid of my 5at for a 6mt lol
Dont worry about traffic just go with what you want the most or you won't get the most enjoyment out of your car.

I live in NYC right by you. I bought a 6mt and couldn't be happier.

I don't drive much during rush hour so I usually don't hit traffic. Once in a while I'll be stuck because of an accident or something but nothing that I can't handle.

I came from an Auto into a 6mt and couldn't be happier. Auto does have its perks though.

Good Luck!

If your heart is telling you to go 6mt, go with the 6mt. I live in LA and although I don't commute that far for work, I deal with my fair share of traffic being on the west side where everyone wants to live and work. I don't feel like it's that hard being in a 6mt.

I think that people who complain about it either don't want the manual bad enough, are lazy, or don't actually drive a manual in traffic and just want to complain about it.
