*the vast majority of ppl will not notice performance difference between 1/2 and 5/16

*1/2" is a little throatier than 5/16"

*gains are a sum of all breather mods, so to say x is better than y has too many variables

*you can fit an engine cover with 1/2" if you invert (flip over) the grommets (and according to some even with normal configuration)

*if you care enough about performance that the tiny difference between 1/2" and 5/16" is an issue - then why are you running an engine cover anyway? It just traps heat and makes about as much difference in performance by running no cover.

the hp gained is on a different part of the power curve... with the 5/16 you'll have more power between ~2500 and ~4k rpm than the 1/2. the half well have more hp after ~4K compared to the 5/16.

Do you want the power from ~2500-4K or after 4k? Do you want it earlier in your gears or later?

I hope i was able to explain it so you could understand.

i should have gotten the 1/2 ... whats the point of adding more power if you dont ever plan on using it..

if your at a track and trying to get a good time..when do your RPM's ever fall before 4k ???
seems like the only time 5/16 will come in handy is from a dig and after you shift again you'll be beyond 4k RPM, correct?

We do use the power, just earlier than we would with a 1/2" spacer, lol.

You're right about the track, but then again, how often are you at the track compared to just daily driving? Again, it just depends on your driving habits, if you're always in the high RPM's, then the 1/2" spacer is more suitable for you. I on the other hand, am usually in the low-mid RPM's, until I feel like having some fun on an empty freeway every now and then .

In the end, you can't go wrong with either spacer.

you guys act like the 5/16" has gobs of low end trq and the 1/2" has none... the difference between the two is almost null... its not enough for most (probably anyone) to even notice.

seriously, get either one - I promise if you didn't know which one was on there you wouldn't know the difference.

^ Haha yeah I know, I was just making that point for the sake of argument . I guess it's comparable to switching different intakes, minimal difference in performance, just different/louder sound.

maybe the combination of different intakes would make a bigger difference with the plenum spacer installed...

i know this is a little off topic but since we're on the topic of hp gains, what is a MREV2 and how does it work/help your car?
