Question for vented hood guys

I have been offered a custom hood by a carbon company I've been working with and I'm strongly considering it.

But my question is, how do to you guys wash your car? I most often go to coin washes and use my own sheepskin mit for the was. Does water drip into your engine bay? I keep my bay relatively clean and I am getting some polished parts in the next few weeks, do you have any problems keeping it clean with the water spots and what not? When ever I do a good clean of the bay I usually cover the intake and alternator to keep the water out, do I run the risk of getting water somewhere it shouldn't be? I am more concerned with soap going in and drying all ugly like

Any info would work, anyone put some kind of moisture locking foam there?

The Seibon TS hood is the style I'll be looking to design.

Demand that they make you rain guards like the authentic TS hood has.

I didn't know those existed!!! The company isn't familiar with vented hoods as they have yet to do them thus far.

Where could I dig up a photo of the rain guards? Or at least how does it keep the water out?

VERY CAREFULLY! :P

i have the cf terminator hood on mine and im always just that much more careful washing the hood... all i do is

1st damp the cloth/sponge and run it across the hood making sure i have minimal runoff of water and then dip the cloth/sponge in meguiars directly so i dont have much foam to worry about when applying

p.s... GET THE CR HOOD!!! ill even wash it for you :P LOL

CR? What does that refer to?

I am the one picking the design and this company is going to start making them for retail, strafe is making the chargespeed style for the sedan.

Oh ok lol yea, I'm going to paint it, but let the paint fade out in the vents. My trunk is going to be CF as well with the molded lip faded into the green.
