hymnn, either disconnect the lock assembly and be SOL when your battery dies, or somehow make the alarm go off when doors are open with the key not with the remote

some of you are missing the point...

if i understand correctly what the OP is stating is that they are not using the screw driver to turn the tumbler and engaging the roll down. they removing the shroud and somehow grounding/triggering the roll down.

and also yes there is more to deter a thief but with such and easy way to open the door, by disabling it you'll just keep an honest person honest...

If they went as far as breaking the lock on your car... Do you honestly think they won't just break your window?

You shouldn't leave anything in your car...

Um, I don't know about you, but a guy with a small screwdriver in his hand that he can easily keep hidden is far less conspicuous than a guy shattering the windows. If someone knows how to do the roll down trick then they can probably do it so quickly that nobody notices that the guy is using a screwdriver instead of a key.

Shatter a window and it's pretty freaking obvious what's going on.

I actually had that happen to me while I was at AMC watching a movie. I came out to see that my key hole cover was missing. Funny thing is though, I had nothing visible in the car and everything inside the car is stock. No headunit, nothing. Come to think of it, I had nothing in the car at all since I just detailed the interior. LOL. They didn't get into my car, so I figured maybe they just stole the key hole cover cause that small piece is worth $40 itself. Still though, pretty scary thought. =\

But hey, why me? I'm stock and there were 3-5 other G35's in the same structure.

At least they didn't jack ur stock corner and the wiring harness connected to it.

Infinti wanted 1000+ to replace the entire wire harness because they didn't sell just the corner socket....

Luckily my insurance covered it. And I made sure they replaced the entire harness instead of splicing and taping. My car was just a week old when some ricer raped my car.

Yep the wiring harness is 1peice. So if someone jacks ur socket, u need to replace the entire thing, or go to a junkyard and cut off the wires you need.

There weren't many G35's in the junk yard at the time. And for a new car, I wanted it to be repaired correctly.
