Tint question

So I recently purchased a G from texas, where there are essentially no tint laws. The car is registered in TX and has TX license plates but is now located in MN where the tint laws are rather strict (50% all over). My question is, if i keep it registered in TX (which i was planning on doing anyway) would i be able to get away with darker tint? I figure if a cop pulls me over I just say I go to school here but drive back home for the summer or something, what are the laws concerning passing through states or having temporary residence?

anyway I can cheat the system...i know there are medical exemptions here...I am wondering if my doctor wouldnt be cool enough just to give me a pass or something...

Do what I do be observant when driving. If you see a cop in front of you or behind you just roll down your windows all the way. Only time this won't work is when it's raining lol good luck.

Do you live in MN? If you live there permanently, if you get pulled over and you tell the cop you're just passing through they will still flag your vehicle. If you get stopped again they will probably write you a fix it ticket. You get stopped a 3rd time, depending on the cop, they will probably impound your car.

I wouldn't worry though, if you have Texas plates they might not pull you over to begin with.

I know nothing about how you get the medical write off for tints, you have the be a legal vampire I think...

do you live on campus or off? This could matter because I know around here where I'm close to Maryland but live in Pennsylvania, I can't have my car tagged for Maryland yet park it outside my Pennsylvania house. After awhile they could notice your car and say you pretty much live there or some b.s. and ticket you for not changing.

Not sure how school helps or not but if your off campus they might not realize your in school. Anyway your lucky your state is even 50, PA is 70! =\

Anyway just something I've heard

yes. It's a real b/s situation but thankfully I live along the border, everyone here seems to tint as low as Maryland's law or lower which is 35%. Better than nothing I guess. I've thought about getting SC tags from where my dad lives but I know I'd get the ticket eventually for living here with out of state tags =(

I just stopped caring.

One good thing about driving a sedan, I could have darker tint driving beside a coupe with lighter tint, yet still illegal. The coupe would get pulled over haha.

My Z is still tintless!
