Quote: The Kuruma Z itself is like $800 shipped. Add sides in, and the body work seems pretty cheap to me.

No replicas of the KZ, it only comes in polyurethane from CZP.

I think Arch is making a knock off soon for like $550 or something, again poly only.

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. The guy said he bought a KurumaZ front and Greddy sides. So I'm assuming he is talking about a G35 coupe and not a Z, since this is a G35 website, and Greddy doesn't make sides for the sedan.

The Kuruma Z for the G35 coupe, like I said, only comes in poly and is available as a combo package from CZP for $1230 + shipping.

Hence I said the body shop $$ didn't seem outrageous.

what I said is the "original" KurumaZ (where the bumper started for a 350Z) is only $500 (so 800 seems steep for a coupe)...

I also said there are Kuruma replicas for Sedan (didn't say anything about sides)...

didnt realize it was that hard to follow...

So why would that have anything to do with him overpaying for his bodywork? If he paid $1230 + shipping for the parts themselves, then I'd say he got a pretty good deal on getting them fitted, prepped, painted, and installed.

he didn't state body kit pricing when he gave the total... he just said 1600 for everything...

In this case the kit seems over-priced.

Okay, so when you said he overpaid, I simply expounded on that by saying it sounded reasonable since the KZ bumper wasn't available in replica and the authentic was expensive to begin with.

At that point you started talking about replicas for the sedan and some 350z bumper and I was all like .

Anyways, that was my point so I'm done.

To help the confused... I bought new for my G35 Coupe, a Kuruma bumper and Greddy sides,( the set form CZP ) had the set fitted and painted. The shop removed my old bumper and sides off the car and installed the new set. For the price of the kit and the paint and install of everything i only have 1600 in it. Very reasonable for a new look.

Sedans have a replica KurumaZ (I wouldn't know that coupes dont)...

When you mentioned authentic KurumaZ - I pointed out that the "original" (which is for a 350Z not coupe) is only $500... so $800 seems steep...

So when the guy posted 1600 for everything... it seems steep... initially I figured his shop is raping him... but now it apparent the price of the kit is rape.

Thats all ~

Since you are dying to know, I paid 1100 for the kit and 500 for paint. Rape? not really, affordable for my budget. I suppose a lot of poor people would think that would be rape.

^^^ as long as you're happy...

I've been raped too... trust me, I realize it can be expensive to mod our cars (1600 is factions of my cost)...

You dont have to be poor or have no mods to realize when things are over-priced... and I've had to succumb to it as well...

BTW, I wasn't "dying to know" anything ~

I have only had the car about 9 months and already spent 8k in mods. Easy to do when you find things that you like. The Volks were up there in price also, was I "raped " again?? I budget around my three kids, house payment and vacations. I shop around enough until I'm satisfied. Some things are just expensive to some people I guess. Luckily this isnt a daily driver and is a hobby for me.
