Why don't they just use their insurance?
B/c they are not the ones that crash the car. You did.

I had someone hit me in a rental car and I still had to pay my $500 deductable through my insurance. I think your insurance will be liable. PS: what are you thinking driving a G with liability only? It's not a 89 civic...it's actually worth something.

Man I'm afraid it will get to the point where I wish it was my car that I crashed instead of theirs

And the only way I can get that kind of money is by selling my G. So I'd still be screwed either way ..

But thanks to you and everybody else for the positive comments

Will keep you guys updated of how things go tomorrow ..

It definitely depends on the state where you live. In Michigan, the insurance follows the vehicle, not the driver. People, keep the shoulds to yourself if you don't know how things actually work. Bad or incorrect advice is worse than no advice.

OP, even though you only have liability, it may be that your policy has full coverage on a rental/loaner car. Check with your agent. As far as the dealer saying they won't cover it, it's most likely not up to them. If they decide to not get it repaired through their insurance, that's their choice, but they can't make you pay for it. The insurance company might come after you, but that's a different story.

Also, under no circumstances can the dealer hold onto your car until you pay for the damaged car. If they attempt to do this, ask them who they'd like you to call first, your lawyer or the police. They would in effect be committing either larceny or extortion.

Try to get the insurance company to pay for it! Raise hell if they don't.
We pay insurance companys tons of money every month to insure us and when we finally need them to cough up some money they give us the middle finger.

I was actually wondering the other day about what would happen if somebody wrecked the loaner car. I have full coverage so I'm sure my insurance would just pay for it, less the deductible. Let us know what happens.

How hard were you pushing the car? It may be too late for this in your current situation but the first thing I would do is get pictures of the tires on the loaner if they are worn, it may give you something to use in dealing with them.
