True Sean, but the internals are steel and that's what you'd be collecting in the filter and the magnet wouldn't allow them to be recirculated. HAHA, 20 years ago I used to put a pair of heavy duty magnets on the bottom of my filters....should have/could have invented what they're selling today! Damn....

use a good filter and reasonably frequent oil changes... you'll be fine.

as far as product value and worth... hell, someone got filthy rich off the "Pet Rock"
