State inspection concerns

So I have to get my inspection and I can't seem to figure this out. I'm in TX.

I have clear side markers with white LEDs. I'm going to put back on my amber side markers cause it's easy enough and it might be a problem. Not sure.

I have blue LEDs in the parking/city lights that is a major PITA to change. Anyone know if this is likely to be a problem?

Also, I have no front license plate.

Thanks!

I just got inspected Thursday in Austin and the clear sides weren't a problem. From what I understand you'll need to have the license plate on to pass, but I don't know about the lights.

Thanks... that means I need to quick find something to get my license plate affixed easily. I'm sure not going to screw it directly into the front bumper!

Theres a DIY about affixing the front plate temporarily with one of those springy paper clamp things you get at like Office Depot.

It all depends on the inspector. If you go somewhere where they play by the book rule for rule, then you might have issues with the blue LED's and such. If you go somewhere where the inspecter is lax, you can be in and out in 5 mins.

Got any friends who inspect cars and such?

HAHA....worried about clear sides and no front license plate? Everyone rags on CA and how tough our law are, this is actually funny! I just had my first smog check to renew my tags, tech saw my intake and spacer and I mentioned I had the CARB sticker in the glove box. He said, Don't need it Thanks and I passed. Now I can install my Fuji intake when I get it next week....

Pretty sure you'll be fine. Just go during the middle of the day so the LEDs aren't obvious. I pass every year with clear side markers, but I have orange bulbs. I don't think the inspector even notices.

To Gary C, I'd rather be told by an inspector to put my front plate on and I do so with tape than be issued a fix-it-ticket by CHP and then have to take it to a ref to get it signed off. And bolt-ons (CARB sticker or not) will pass as long as the car passes the sniffer test and no CELs are on. IMO, the annual inspections are actually useful as it forces people to replace their tires and tail lamps when needed without bias as opposed to the stupid CHP who are just out to harass and collect money through speeding tickets. I grew up in California.

Good. It's wired and running, I just need to mount it to the cubby now. It falls in ever time I hit any small bump

Maybe we should have CA. State Inspections yearly along with the smog checks. That might keep the illegals off our highways with their junk vehicles. Don't rag on the CHP they're just doing their job, although not always appreciated by us....LOL

Hey, I would be totally for that! You're right, the CHP are just following orders to focus on making money to fund a state that has an unstoppable hunger for social services and no ***** to deal with illegal aliens.

So yeah, for the record I decided to leave everything as is and I passed with no front plate, clear corners w/ white LEDs and blue LEDs in the headlight city/lights. I also have a Fast Intentions exhaust and Z-Tube/Pop-Charger but I wasn't worried about that.

I did drop nearly $600 on tires/alignment at the same time (definitely needed) but passed no problem.
