In my opinion, Gary is one of the most helpful people on this forum.

Hes just a dick to you because you have a huge nismo sticker on your car, and change your mind every 30 minutes.

You sure it's a Stingray? Is it crossfire injection? If so, those engines are 200hp turds. Everyone knows the C3 Corvettes died with the fuel efficiency regulations of the mid 70's.

I hate to break it to you, but it doesn't sound like you know enough about cars to take on a project like this. Just sell your G, buy a Chevy Silverado and throw on some Flowmasters.

Yeah it has the L48 engine, which is ****ty, but I am only spending 6,000 on the car and I am looking to completely change out the motor to a big block.

That's a pretty serious undertaking. Have you looked for an early 70's model with a decent engine already in it?

I had a '65 Mustang with a straight six and had big plans to switch it out for a small block 302. Once I found out how much work it was going to be I changed my mind. I also wouldn't want a project car as my daily driver.

Everything you said in that post is completly true, its a big job, its gonna be risky and expensive, its awful that a project car is gonna be my daily driver, but I'm 18 and I'm trying to have fun before I get out of college and start having to be much more mature, I am signing up for lessons at a vocational college to go with the car and learn how to properly maintain and work on old vettes, cars is something I have always wanted to get into when I was a kid but I never really took initiative until recently, I don't know tons about cars and I'm looking to learn and go through the process with a car I have loved since the first time Is saw it when I moved to salt lake city when I was 4 and my neighbor had one. I really like the g35, but I had a nissan 350z right before the g35 and its just way too similar for me (oviously) I am looking for something completley new and american muscle is what I wanna get into. sorry for the novel

Go for it then. American muscle cars have always been my favorite and I hope to be able to buy one to restore someday. I got my Mustang for $1,500 when I was 15 so I obviously didn't have the resources to follow through. My Uncle has always wanted one and is finally restoring a '65 and '69 with his son. Of course his son is 16 and gets the '65 when it's finished. Lucky b******. If I had my choice I would get a '69 Z28 and/or a Boss 429. By the time I can afford to, gas will be $10/gallon.

The Boss 429 was one of my first choices when thinking of what muscle car I wanted to get, It has always been one of my favorite cars but there is just something about the c3 stingray and the fins it has on the front of the hood, the way the cab is so far back and the hood is so huge, I just think the car looks mean and badass, I'm looking to paint it mustang blue with 2 white stripes down the middle.

The chances of getting your hands on an authentic Boss 429 are next to none. There were less than 1,400 made and they've sold at auctions for more than $350,000. I've only seen one in person and it was on a trailer passing through town so I'm not even sure it was real.

Also, what exactly is 'mustang blue'? Mustangs have come in multiple variations of blue.
