just wondering

So my bro has an 07 350z and I have the 07 g35....is it possible to add that gauge that determines ur gas mileage left in tank. I dont like guessing how much is left when its on E for the tank.

Wait a minute. I thought the stock Navi or anything car I have ever had that tells you how many miles left stops reading at about 40 miles left as in "just fill it up now".

It doesn't count down to 3 miles left.

Is that not others' experience?

Mine counts down to maybe 30 miles at the least....then it changes to -- and i'm left guessing.

I did own a Lincoln that went down to single digits...although i never got it less than 9 Miles to Empty..so no idea how low it would go and how accurate it is.

You don't want to go that low anyway. That's when you start sucking crap off the bottom of the tank. And since the G35's fuel filter is not replacable (at least not easily), that's something you def don't want to do. WHen i get around 1/4 tank...i go to gas station..but usually i try not to stay under 1/2 tank too long.

does that sensor the 350z have for detecting how much miles you can go does it need to connect to computer or is there additional things needed?

I've driven both my aunt's RX350 and uncle's ES330 and once they both had a glowing "0" next to the fuel range. Needless to say I scared ****less the car was gonna shut off in the middle of the road so I filled it up myself.

I never understand people who run their gas tank 'til the last drop.

I don't get that either....why? Driving around town if I'm below half and I pass by my station I fill up. On trips driving the west coast if I'm close to 1/4 I'm looking for a station. Last time I ran out of gas I was in high school, just a few years ago....

really? when it says E, usually that's a good indication to put some gas in the car. Do you really need a gauge to tell you that?

On the G35...it's part of the navigation system.

I always fill the tank once it hit the 1/4 mark. Not sure exactly why people wait til the very last minute to fil their tank up again? Does it save you money?
