See if I have all my facts right

Hi all I'm new to the forum.

Did my homework on the Gs

Just wanted to see if they are right

03-04 models have oil pooling problem which can be fixed easily with new valve gaskets.

05-06 6MTs(limited to manuals only?) have the infamous oil consumption problem in some. This would be a PITA if out of warranty.

Also reaseached on the transmission. Nothing special but some replaced clutch @ 60k on the manuals? How would you rate the reliablility of auto tranny on the Gs.

Other than that just tear n wear items like rubbers

I'm currently looking for sedan with auto transmission. Also considering the X model but they r hard to find at the right price. The reason that I kinda wanted a X is beacuse I'm moving to the east coast in 2011 and ppl say rwd dont do well in snow. Do I really need AWD?

Is there anything I'm missing?

Thank u for ur input

This is possible, but it's unusual for this to occur. I've only heard about this maybe once in 5 years on DRIVER so it falls under the uncommon occurrence catagory....

^ I hear that this is a problem after the 75k mark. NOT EVERYONE checks their plugs to check for oil leaking onto it so of course you don't hear much about it.

But in the thread that warns us to check your plugs before you power-train warranty is up thread, I see that there are a lot of cases of people having this problem. (those who checked)..

I have an 04 with an auto 71k, no problems at all

Replaced tires and a new battery. A side from oil changes and transmission fluid everything is going well.

There's a whole bunch of G35s on the street with major modifications that are a kick in the azz to drive along with being quick/fast and they have 5ATs. rhowards comment is so noooob along with being ignorant and unfounded. It helps if you think prior to posting or it's probable to get
