Most valued does not mean most reliable. Just because their cars are overpriced and perform brilliantly doesn't make them reliable. Repairs are frequent and expensive on all of the big 3 German car makers.Originally Posted by SHOKASE

JD Power doesn't mean squat. They only measure the first 90 days of ownership, and they're sponsored by the car industry so they have a vested interest in making the people that pay their bills look good. Try something a little more unbiased like Consumer Reports and those top 2 entries plummet to near the bottom, along with the German car makers. Once again, more deceptive and unreliable information posted by jibberjabbers. Why is it you still own your G35 and continue to infest this forum with your BS?Originally Posted by jibberjabbers

May I recommend an outstanding source for reliability data..?
http://www.truedelta.com/
FWIW, I also recommend joining (it's free) and contributing your own reliability/repair data to the matrix - that makes the information that much more comprehensive.

I'll say a g35 is reliable, it starts up fine in cold climates. It does suck on gas.
I wonder what you guys are comparing it to? My last few vehicles have been 400hp 5.4 supercharged lightning, 520hp supercharged 4.6 cobra and now the 2005 6.0 ls2 corvette. i'm assuming it's better than all of those. corvette is supposed to be good but in city all i see is 12-13mpg.

Consumer Reports is the bible of reliability tracking. G35 has Excellent reliability. Better resale value that BMW and Mercedes as well. Ive owned about 30 cars and have never bought anything CR doesn't recommend. They are unbiased, don't except advertising.....
But the yearly car guide I think it will run you about 8bucks.

I get it every year, even when I'm not in the market for a car. Lots of good reading in there. Infiniti reliability has pretty much always ranked a very solid #3 behind Toyota/Lexus and Honda/Acura (ignoring the recent problems with Toyota).Originally Posted by COMMANDOE

Its a monthly publication that reviews anything and everything. It is great for purchasing anything. Annually it has a big automotive addition which is included with subscription. Consumer reports is the magazine. They also have online subscription. Its either consumerreports.com or org.

They have a monthly mag, an annual special mag on new cars (comes out around April), and they also sell a Used Car Buying Guide. It's a paperback book, not a mag. That's what I buy.

I had a 03 mustang gt previously that I got 24-26 mpg highway with 87 octane.
Now I get 20-21 mpg highway with 93 octane with my g.
I drive 90% highway, so my fuel costs were cheaper with a v8.

Yeah, but keep in mind who buys these $40k+ car new? I still see plenty of elderly people driving 06 g35s. If the front parking light bulb burns out, what do they do? For us it's 5 bucks and 10 mins...but for some people, it is a trip to the dealer.Originally Posted by SxSkyLinexS
