About those VQ’s...

I’m happy with my ‘06 G35, but have been reading about all the improvements to the 2007 model. It’s my understanding that the VQ engine was significantly revised for ‘07. More power, easier dipstick, and slightly better economy were all things that appealed to me. I want to trade for an ‘07, but have also been reading in recent car magazines that the VQ is now noisy and coarse. My questions about this are several: Is there a real qualitative difference in the newer VQ engines or is it simply that the competition has advanced more in refinement? Is the ‘07 3.5 liter VQ susceptible to this problem or only the larger and newer 3.7 liter? Has ownership by Renault meant that they’ve tried to take out cost by substituting cheaper parts or materials?

Thanks for your help!

i know nothing about any of the above... i test drove a g37 coupe and it was nice... i didn't see much difference from my g35 coupe except softer wheel and it seemed to give the feel of the car being heavier (though the 37 wasnt wasnt a sport).. didn't seem noisy or coarse though

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
O7 coupes still had the DE motor. 07 sedans got the HR with the better horsepower--306.
