What G35 should I get

So I am currently deployed to Afghanistan. When I return home I am going to buy a G. Originally I was going to buy a 37 but I dont think it be worth the car payment. My delema is weather I should get an generation 3 or 4. What is the differences between the two and is getting an 07 worth the extra money over say an 05. Also, what are the differences in performance of a coupe vs 4 door. Any input will be much appreciated

I think the coupe might be a little slower than the sedan because it's heavier. But if I was young and single I'd get a coupe just for the looks. I think it's one of the sexyest cars on the road.
I got my sedan for the AWD. Yah, I'm old and married.

if you are getting a coupe definitely consider an 06-07 the headlights and taillights are different which look a lot better in my opinion as well there is slightly different bumper and sideskirts for the sport on the 06+

reference for differences in this link

as sedans go i wouldnt get one unless you got a kid and a family.
It is really what is your style as it still says g35 on it but the body style for both is not even close to the same

As coupe guy i would say coupe but do what makes you happy
aswell use the search and look at some of threads full of info
do your research make the right choice
