K&N Drop In SES Light ON! **HELP**

I recently put in a K&N Drop in filter on my car today. In order to loosen the airbox enough to pull the old filter out I had to disconnect the mass airflow sensor. I did not unhook the battery, just the mass airflow sensor that plugs into the tube. Anyway, I went to turn my car back on and forgot to plug in the sensor, so I shut the car off, plugged the sensor in and restarted the engine.

Now my SES light is on and I after driving it around a bit it is still on. I search about the light, and some are saying reset the ECU but the information in those threads seems spotty and not very straight foward.

Should I reset the ECU with the ECU sticky, or wait and it will "learn" to adapt to the K&N filter; or do I have to go to a dealer and have them reset the SES light?

THanks

That is good to hear lol. I swear when I looked at the mass airflow wire before I went to turn the car on it looked like it was in! Let me tell you though, I can hear the car pulling air when I get on it, has a great sound. Nice bonus for keeping up with regular maintenance

If you don't want to bother with the pedal ECU reset, just unhook the negative end of your battery and leave it for a while. When you turn your car on and your radio presets are all gone, that means it did the trick.

I do this before putting any modification on my car and I've never had problems afterward.

Drive to auto zone, borrow their code scanner, find the code, write it down, and then clear it. Then come back here and confirm that the code is in fact a maf code.
