Not entireley true, yes it comes from the same place but each company adds their own additive package which vary greatly.

Other than the fact that it all starts out as crude. After that though...
OP, Costco Gas is fine, so is Sam's club.
My Trans-Am would labor knock up a hill on anything less than premium, but even on premium from certain stations (for example, a local PAN, and a Petro)
However, it never had this problem when running premium from Sam's or Costco.

I am a Regional Manager for a Security Trucking Logistics Company. I can tell you that not all fuel is the same.
Never had an issue with Costco.
All gas is not equal but all gas does have to measure to minimum specs per law (the clean air act is a major component but there is also state and federal law too). This is the minimum quality for sale.
Frequently colors are added. Detergents, additives, preservatives, etc. These are based on the specs of the gas ordered by the customer.
As to using a higher grade of gas. Consult your owners manual (esp for turbos and supers).
