Performance vs Non Performance Meets
I just want to know what type of meets you enjoy more.
Performance oriented meets such as track meets, canyon runs etc or Non-performance type meets like parking lot get together's and such.
Performance not your thing?
Parking lot meets get boring?
Performance meets expensive?
I rarely see any type of performance oriented meets in my area nor do many show interest.
I know most will saw they like both, but what interest you more? Looks or performance. Pick one.

i like "parking lot meets" (your bias shows in how you refer to these, as well as how your poll choices are worded lol)
i prefer them because i really just go to look at the cars and admire what others have done. Hard to get a good look at a moving car, and if i want to enjoy a drive i can do that solo.

I've only gone to "parking lot" meets so far, but I've always wanted to go on a canyon run. Never went to one because they're held mostly at times that I'm either at work, or sleeping for work the next day.
I used to be down for Canyon runs, went to a few a couple years back. But now I'm slammed so no more canyon runs for me. Also don't want to collect anymore rock chips in my front bumper.
I prefer to hang out, talk and take pics at meets/shows.

I've never actually done any performance meets. Im more of the type to go to meets and hang out/talk. Like others said I enjoy going to admire other cars and its always great to see how others have moded there gs. I love the caravans also, those are always fun.

+1 same for me. if i do take the car into the twisties i do it by myself to avoid attracting attention & rock chips.

Here's my take and I'll be honest.
I'm a fan of both.
For anyone who has been to a track meet (example: Redline Time Attack) will notice that a lot of the attendee's are not actually participating in the event. Merely spectating. You have the option to participate or enjoy the event as a spectator with other car enthusiast in the parking lot.
At a track meet, not only do you still get to hang out and watch others race, you can also see people track their cars, walk the pits, more excitement, etc. To me, that is the best of both worlds.
Not only are there photo op's of static cars, but also moving cars.
The only downside is that cost of the event whether you are a spectator or participator.
I know I'm a minority here being a performance person, but I don't see why people here don't like events such as the video below.
Video example below.

I've been to a few mountains runs with my cousin for his STI meets. G with RAS FTMFW. No turbo FTMFL.
My G can hug the curve like nothing. But the straights.. The STI just takes off.
Not really into the parking lot meets. Yeah lets stand around with 40 dudes and 2 girls posing for 40 cars. lol Lets talk about what intake you have and how much faster your car is because you got a plenum and a injen cold air intake.

I then hopped in a Nissan 240sx turbo... But it wasn't as scary as the ride in the CRX. I'm guessing the driver wasn't as skilled as the CRX driver.
