pennzoil ultra with purolator pureone filter. Mobil 1 is not that great.. Pennzoil has been shown to have minimal wear compared to mobil 1.

 

Mobil 1 filter with Castrol GTX. Used this on my wifes honda thru 196k miles.

 

Royal Purple Oil or any major brand as long as its fully synth, go with a 10W40. Filter i use a Greddy with that "magnet" technology haha.

 

The truth is, it doesn't matter what oil or filter you use if you change it frequently. You can do like I do and spend up to $70 for an oil change with the best oil and filters or you can use common sense and use Mobil1 5W/30 and their oil filters....so many choices!

Looks like Castrol has zero bad readings. And Amsoil 5w30, horrid.

Even the Castrol GTX did good.

 

In every car I've owned I have ran GTX. I change the oil every 4k miles. My wifes 96 civic had 196k miles on it when i sold it and her CRV is currently at 140k with zero issues. I believe frequency plays a huge role in oil life also. Neglect the oil and you are asking for trouble.

shucks i jus bought mobil1 0-30 for the first time been only using castrol synthetic only but theres no data. lol damn makes me wanna return it

 

Back in 07 M1 was reformulated, it used to be the best oil which is why so many people recommend it back then. But now since it was reformulated its not as good as it used too. But people still think its the same amazing oil which is why you hear it so much still. But If you read around you will know the new formula is pretty bad.
