Hi Screensaver,

A couple of quick questions:
1) Any idea what the sample size was? An average of 5 cars is not as robust of a "study" as one of 50 or 100 or 1000. Without this info, the data is suspect I would imagine.
2) Were there a similar number of cars per oil brand and weight?
2) Are these wear numbers for the VQ engine alone?

Thanks for the info, this could be very useful for my next oil change.
Isa

lol your going to have to talk to the person over at my350z who created this chart.

1. Not sure
2. I am pretty sure it is VQ only. And who ever had a VQ sent in the results of their UOA to the guy who made the chart

but if you read around on bobistheoilguy or people posting there UOA's with what oil they use on the VQ they get pretty similar results. I get Great results with Castrol Syntec and I sent it and got a UOA. And there are posts with people with other oils, M1 usually gets outperformed by other cheaper oils, as I said there formula changed back in 07 and its not as good any more.

^ This guy knows his stuff. Just do it frequently. But mostly the synthetic oils are good. Try Mobile1, Castro, Pennsoil, or Amsoil.
