Help me get my G35 back in shape.

Hey everyone, I was hoping for some help on getting my G35 back up to par. I have an 04 G35 coupe and did some work to it back when I first got it. After a while, I wasn't really into it as much, and my body kit got a bunch of cracks from being too low to the ground, my headlights are all fogged up with condensation, and a bunch of other things. I also recently bought a GT-R so I'm not really interested in any performance upgrades. Mainly just cosmetic and audio.

I have a few questions hopefully you guys can help out.

1) What's the best place online to buy a new body kit cheap? I have the authentic Greddy front and side skirts and a replica Kenstyle rear bumper? All of them have cracks so I need to replace them. I'd prefer going with something different than the Greddy front as this is the 2nd one I've gone through and still scrapes pretty consistently.

2) I'd like to upgrade from reflectors to projector headlights. Is ebay the best place to go for this? Also, which HID's are the best for projectors? I bought some cheap brand for my reflectors and after a year one is more blue and one is more white.

3) I want to upgrade the sound system. Do you still need the double din dash? What's a recommended in-dash DVD player/radio? I'm currently rocking all factor audio components and would like an upgrade.

Thanks for any help. Much appreciated!

You can try Strafe or Arch. Both have a pretty checkered reputation on this board, but as far as replicas go, you don't have much of a choice. And I'd still rather order from them than an Ebay vendor.

If you're going authentic, I'd check over at my350z they have a better selection of vendors that carry real stuff.

Order from Riverside Infiniti. I'd just keep the stock bulbs, they offer the best combination of performance, looks, and quality. I'd stay away from cheap ricer bulbs.

Last question I have no idea. Good luck, and congrats on the GTR.

Add some new wheels to the G. Always dramatically changes the whole essence of the car.

I would definitely go with Strafe or Arch Industries. They offer good replica stuff at a pretty decent price. Or if you really liked the look of the GReddy, I'd recommend checking out the Kuruma Z front bumper offered by Concept Z. It comes in poly and is somewhat of a similar design.

DO NOT use eBay for the Projectors. Again, Riverside offers them at a great price. I wish I had found this forum before I even bought my projectors, because a pretty hefty penny for mine from the Nismo Shop. I should have bought from Riverside instead. Also, what you have to beware about eBay sellers is that they don't sell you the recalled 06-07 projectors.

Also, if you're looking to change out the bulbs for your projectors, I would suggest 6k or 8k bulbs. 8k being more blue with less light output. I wouldn't go any higher then 8k, but that's just my opinion. I like being able to see where I'm driving at night.

Yes, you still need the Double Din dash in order to install a screen in your car. Riverside offers them as well. I would HIGHLY suggest that you order the JDM kit from Riverside and not the metra. Metra looks cheap and the buttons are crap.

Pioneer and Kenwood make good screens. Kenwood generally comes with everything, such as Garwin Navigation and Blue Tooth capabilities already, but they're a bit more pricey. Most Pioneers do not and require that you also purchase the optional "docks" if you want Navigation or Blue Tooth. In the end, its up to you what you want though.

Good luck in revamping your car. I would say go out and enjoy it again, but you already own a GT-R.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Is there a website for Strafe or Arch so I can see their bodykits?

I checked the Riverside Infiniti site, and I'll probably buy the double din dash and headlights from there. Where's the best place and best brand to buy HID's? Are PIAAs still really good? I'd probably want a more white look with better visibility, the brighter the better.

What's the scoop on in-dash radio's/DVD screens? Are they universal? Or car specific? Any recommendations on where to buy from?

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

Here's my GT-R and some pics of my G35 when it was in good condition lol.

Ask nicely and you shall receive. They are vendors here on the forum, so PM them for pricing quotes and shipping quotes.

Strafe:

Arch Industries:

ConceptZ (Kuruma Z front):

Try Henry from Statik. (MrWrong@Statik) I bought my HID's from him. Great guy to deal with. Very customer friendly.

If you're interested in a certain type of screen, I would head over to crutchfield and see what the measurements are. This will let you see if it will fit or not.

I don't know if there are any vendors here that actually sell them, since I bought mine from a guy here locally that does installs, since he has a warranty for them. Here's an image of mine if you want an idea of what you can get. This is with the JDM Double Din kit.

Hope that helps.
