You got screwed big-time, but I doubt you'll be able to get any compensation.

Anyway, for comparison, I had my 60K service done at a Nissan dealership for $500. Also had all 4 brake rotors and pads replaced at a local shop for $600 out-the-door.

why are you guys paying so much?

Even $500-$600 is to much to spend on this type of service.

I mean all they really do at 30K is inspect some stuff and top off fluids

60k is more replacement stuff so $500 for parts and labor is about right

but im a DIY so the 30k cost me about $70

How badly did I eat it? Seems insane for the price and i'm not even sure how I managed to walk out without throwing a fit.

I just checked with my local Inifiniti dealer yesterday about the 30k checkup. I had just done the oil change (just got the car a month ago), so without that, they were going to charge me $650. I didn't feel like messing with the tranny or rear end fluid, so that is the only reason why I was checking. He said those are 60k service changes. That was all I needed to hear. Below is a copy of the e-mail quote I received. I could not believe the price they get for this little amount of work.

Thank you for your recent inquiry. Based on the information you have provided I would like to suggest we perform the 30,000 mile service on the vehicle. This service would get your vehicle maintenance needs up to date. In brief it includes the following:

Oil & Filter Change (we would not perform this service since you have attended to it)

Tire/Wheel Balance & Rotation

Replacement of Engine Air Filter

Replacement of Heating/Cooling System Filter (Cabin Filter)

Replacement of Engine Coolant

Parking Brake Adjustment

Brake Inspection – measurement

Battery Connection service

Lubrication of Hinges/Locks

Inspection of brake & fuel lines

Wheel Alignment adjustment

This service would be approximately $650.67 inclusive of parts, labor, supplies, and local sales tax.

Just got off the phone, they are at least going to give me a 15% discount.

This is what they did (excluding the brake job):
Oil Change
Engine/Oil/Filter inspection
Road test
Battery load test
Wipers
Lubricate doors & hinges
Replace diff fluid
Replace auto trans fluid
Replace engine coolant
Clean sun roof drains
Check A/C temp
Replace drive belts
Replace air filter
Flush ABS/Brake fluid
Replace wiper blades
Adjust parking brake
Inspect, rotate, balance tires
