Unless that thing is tied into some major structural component of the car, if it produces any significant braking force, it'd bend whatever it's attached to.

The fact it activates when ever you touch the brakes seems like overkill to me. Might be a cooler idea if it only came up when you hit the brakes going over a certain MPH.

From an AE major, aerospace engineer, no that will not cause any lift. It will slow provide minimal drag, but its a real cool thought/idea just poorly executed.

The reason those spoiler go up to the roof line is because they provide down force over the rear tires. This increases the traction, thus increasing acceleration.

isnt going to work at low speeds, i can see it making a slight difference from 150-0 but not 60-0

I'd love to see this spoiler in action in January, where my car might have a 1/4" of ice on it at any given time.

I hope this doesn't catch on. I'm still sick of the fender port trend. "Ohh, your Ford Tempo is a V8 AND a Buick?"
