i use 8k and love the look at night. i have no problems seeing at night, although light does not go that far ahead of car. especially if u have led's in your headlights or for turn signals it matches the color perfect. downside is like everyone else is sayin, you do lose some visibility. for best light=6k best looks=8k.

yes, you need to buy a slim ballast and an H1 bulb and rig it up

Do 6000k bulbs get physically hotter than the stock 4500k?

One problem I have is that every time I see really blue HID's coming down the road at me, they are installed in a car that doesn't have factory HIDs. It's always some one in there Civic, Cobalt, Sunfire, etc.. I've come to associate that blue color with cheap fake HID's. Might just be me though.

+1 for ddmtuning. Picked up a pair of D2R bulbs for $15.

4300K is stock
5000k for pure white.
6000k has a slight blue tint and already too blue for me personally.

^^^ pure Ricer status lol
anyways 6K or 8K dont go higher! 8K looks nice though! For me, pretty much everything above 8K is yeah kinda ricy. And don't look at those who drive with fake blue HID lights, just do as you think is nice and what suits you, not as some others think of what's rice and what's not.

if you want the highs to work as well as the fogs you need a bi-xenon ballast. ( I think thats the word)
