Oil Consumption Test.

So, I have 2007 G35 C, 6MT with 47,000 miles on it. I got the car when it was one year old and had 15k on it. I have been reading about the oil consumption issues with G35 so I decided to ask the dealer to do the consumption test as I did notice quite a bit of difference on the stick between the oil changes. The warranty will end March 2011.

So far the dealer initiated the test and told me to come every 600m or 1k km to check the level. On the first visit they said that I was 0.3L down, second visit they said that it was 0.2L down at the third visit they said it was 0.3L down. I have one more visit coming up. It looks to me that the car consumes about 1.8L of oil every 6000km or 3500m. I have one more visit at which time they will most likely tell me that this is acceptable.
I am just wondering what is acceptable and how should I be dealing with them.

What I don’t like is that the way the do the “test” is they have one of their mechanics look at the stick and that’s how they determine how much oil is less. HOW CAN YOU TELL BY LOOKING AT THE STICK THAT .3L IS GONE!!!!!!
ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!!!

Welcome to DRIVER Cobra....! =oD

There is no reason to make a thread about OC and ask questions! By doing a SEARCH you would have easily found all the answers to your questions. Every time anyone (including myself) starts a thread, DRIVER should ask this question...."Have you tried a SEARCH?"
