Want to smoke my tail lights and just wondering if its illegal in Nevada(vegas) to do so, also if anyone could suggest a good speaker system/setup for the 06 coupe...guessing doesnt need two twelves but jw if anyone has something good out there

 

technically all mods are illegal but smoking the rear tails are more a safety issue than anything else and cops will pull you if your whole rear tails are tinted out to dark that your break lights are hard to see/not bright enough, a light tint is ok or even moderate (5/16) seems to be ok also but be aware that even with a light tint they can still pull you for it.

as long as you can see your brake lights through the tint on a bright sunny day they normally leave you alone since seeing the brake lights is all they care about.

 

thats why i did my lights GT-R style, so the brake light is actually not smoked:

 

my sister lives there and her tails on her mazda6 were pitchblack almost looked painted over, she never had a problem

not sayin you wont tho, she very well could have just been lucky lol

 

I got harassed once for having my taillights tinted, and it was at night! Shout out to that plain clothes detective who decided to question me as I was parking my Celica. I had them blacked out for months. Nobody bothered me until that dude decided to be a jerk.

I'm gonna tint my G tails one day. Light smoke over the whole thing, because I don't wanna just leave the circles untouched while the rest it tinted.

 

Here's an why not ask a Vegas cop? That way you won't have our opinions but the correct answer from the source....

cuz im not just wondering if its illegal idc about that just care if youll actually get **** for it cuz today alone i saw 6 or 7 cars with it

 

i don't think is llegal,but i been driving on las vegas for over 6 years and never get a ticket for any of my mods,i live in LA but my brother lives there.

i have smoked tail lights on my G here in Cali and have never had problems with cops, I've even had one driving behind me, and I wasn't pulled over. Its illegal to have, but honestly I just think its whether the cop that catches you decides to pull you over or not.

 

Yes, it's illegal. So are clear corners, dark tinted windows, loud exhausts, etc etc

Whether or not you get your ***** busted is another question. Plenty of people drive around with illegal stuff....just depends on who wants to bust your ***** about it. Just keep in mind, the more stuff on your car that calls attention to you, the bigger a target you become.

 

if you want to know if it's legal or not go by your local DMV and pick up a vehicle code book...costs about 20 bucks but it has a complete list of everything you can/can't do to your car

also makes a good "get out of ticket" book as well if you pull it out when a cop quotes you what code you're breaking since (at least around here) the cops will ramble off random codes instead of the correct one.

 

i got a 2003 sedan an mines looks like its painted an i havent have any prob with cops even when they get behind me

 

also, dont drive like a douche and they wont be a douche, i am a strong believer of that

 

i have a friend with tinted taillights, he got pulled over around southpoint casino, the cop told him that his tinted taillights was illegal. Not sure if he got a ticket , but he had his taillights tinted for 3 years and recently got pulled over for it.
