Dead battery in fob - help!

It just died as I went out to get lunch - flashing key decal on dash. No big deal I thought because I can just slot the fob into the dash.

But it doesn't work! Slide the fob in and the 2 lights either side of the slot flash but I get nothing - and I've tried inserting it every-which way dammit.

Am I missing something? I have to get a solution in the next 2 hours before I leave for my second job!

Well, your only real option is to go get a new battery. Try 2025 or 2032 models.

Radioshack carries them, CVS probably does too.

Most major pharmacies (CVS, Rite Aid, etc.) carry the battery you need. I believe it's the 2032 that you need.

Escaped from work and bought 2 new Cr 2032. Still a no go - nothing happens at all and the key dash warning still flashes. Will try jump starting the car.

So, it was a dead fob and a dead battery. The car occasionally throws beeps at me when I leave the vehicle but never seems to tell me what's up. I'm guessing (but couldn't find) something was left on

I have aways gotten those kinda batteries from Lowes or Advance Auto. They sell enough of them that you don't have to worry as much about getting one thats been on the shelf for 5 years.
