Advice on Purchase.

Looking at buying 2003 Coupe, Caribbean Blue Auto, Fully loaded Navigation and all but has 150,000 miles I can buy it for $9900.00 has been serviced at the Dealer for the last 3 years but is on a local car lot now,I seen the car fax has been in 2 minor accidents, Is this worth purchasing or should I just hold out for a 2006? just wanted to know what your thoughts on this and if you think its worth buying. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

Gotta love Caribbean Blue, I looked all of 2010 for the exact one I wanted. I ended up giving up and going with a better condition/cheaper/closer to me black one (my second choice). The one you listed has too many miles and two wrecks even for $9.9k to me...

It may end up costing you more to fix some issues it may have. Unless you know for sure how bad the wrecks were....?

Thanks man, I really wanted a CB,They are far and few between in good shape, but seems all the Deals are in Florida right now, I don't want to drive 800 plus miles to get one, guess I will be patient and just wait, Thanks for the input though.

I agree, two wrecks.. is pretty bad. Poor car! As far as the miles, I always think about 12K miles per year... that is a lot of years of driving. I think it would be worth the wait to find a CB with no wrecks and less miles.. probably for same price.

I will just hunt a 06 loaded up, finding what I want is very difficult for some reason, trying to stay around $18K if I can but I have plenty of time I guess.

The color is what I what most interested in, buying a motor and installing it is way cheaper than than a paint job,but the wrecks it has been involved in and the chance that all the suspension being wore out maybe so much more, maybe in my best interest to look for a 2005-2006.seems a lot changes took place since 2003.

I was also looking at an 03 Coupe and finally test drove an 06 too. The changes were worth it for me. I love the blue tooth and the crispy bright headlights.. lots of things. I took a train to go pick up my car. I got the exact car I wanted.

If you are not going to keep it long then go for it.. but for the long haul, I would wait.

You would be surprised! I sold my 97 VW Jetta right before getting my G. That thing had 264,000 miles on it!

I'm after a 05-06 for sure, are the headlights that much better on a 06 than 05? that and the bluetooth everything else is pretty much the same isn't it?

And if so, what's the easiest way to convert?

One of the G-urus will have to chime in on this one. I am not sure. All I know is I was very pleasantly surprised when I drove my car at night. As far as the blutooth, I think it is built in to the Bose system. I could be wrong since the little microphone is near the center cabin lights and the controls are on the steering wheel.

Yes. The 06 and newer G's have HID projectors, were the 03-05 only have reflector HIDs. You will find the light output to be much greater with the projectors. However, the 06+ headlights with projectors are a direct fit for any G35 coupe (03, 04, 05, etc.). You can buy them new for $500-600 or even cheaper used and sell your old lights (this is what I'm doing).

So to me, spending $6k~ more on a 2006 or newer just wasn't worth it. I got my 03 6MT Coupe w/ 84K in mint condition, new tires/brakes, etc. with all service records for $12K. A 06 or newer would be 18K~ in the same condition. Just take your time and you will find the perfect one.

How far did you have to go to get it?

If there are any low mileage '03/'04s in mint condition they'll cost you what an average '06 might. The best mod you can make for an early G would be the '06 projector headlight, the difference is literally night & day! Since you're looking for a G35 have you looked at our MARKETPLACE? Members generally take excellent care of their rides with the exception of a few I won't mention....
