Alternator

Hey guys, do we have an intelligent Alternator A.K.A. smart Alternator or a dumb Alternator? Smart Alternators are controlled to come on or off depending on load and other conditions to increase MPGs. Dumb is always on.

We have a standard regulator, it's always on maintaining a constant voltage. The car always uses power, it would be bad if it ever turned off. Some cars turn it off a wide open throttle to increase acceleration, I don't know if the G does that.
