Lookin' at several Gs and have a question...

Hey all,

I'm thinking of picking up a G35 sedan and was curious about something I read but can't find much info on. That is, the difference between the '06 and '07 model years. I heard that the chassis was stiffened by 40% and other refinements were made. Sounds big--is it? Are the '07+ cars that much better set-up wise?

I love to drive a car hard (I used to race but now I have kids...), so I want to know if the difference between these two years is that big, or is it hardly noticeable? I know about the "sport" version of '07 and have found one for an OK price. I've also seen that the manual vs the auto has a 20hp differential. What's up with that? To make it even worse, the manuals are hard to find!

Also, are the base cars + your own suspension upgrades about equal to the sport version? Just trying to figure things out here.

TIA,

Daniel

yes i had both a 2006 g35 6mt sedan and currently have a 2007 g35 sedan.... a lot less rattles in the 2007 model.

but my 2007 is a loaded car with back up camera, the voice recognition, more comfortable seats vs the 2006

That's funny, whenever I drive a loaner that is '07+ I find it to be MUCH less comfortable than my '06.

I usually can't wait to get my own car back again. I could never drive one of those (07+) every day.

I found the 07 5at, compared to my 06 5at to be just a hair quicker, smoother sounding engine and a bit more responsive. The suspension was stiffer, but the car itself felr heavier and a bit bigger.
